When Instagram switched the profile grid to 3:4, older 1:1 puzzle feeds (mosaics designed on a square grid) stopped lining up. If your carefully built puzzle now looks off, here’s how to migrate.
Why it breaks
A 1:1 puzzle assumes square tiles. The 3:4 grid is taller, so seams and alignment shift and your original composition no longer matches.
How to re-plan
- Import your current grid as a screenshot in Grid Screenshot Import.
- See how your old puzzle reads in today’s 3:4 grid.
- Re-crop or reorder so key elements stay visible inside the 3:4 safe area.
- Export a mockup to confirm before you change anything live.
Tip
For new puzzle feeds, design directly for 3:4 tiles and keep seams on integer boundaries to avoid 1px gaps.
