How to reorder your Instagram grid

Instagram’s drag-to-reorder is mobile-only and sometimes disappears. Plan on desktop, then reorder on your phone with a reliable checklist.

Since 2026-06-08 you can drag posts to reorder your profile — but only in the phone app. Desktop and tablet can’t reorder, and some accounts report the Reorder entry disappearing after first use.

Plan first, then reorder

  1. On desktop, open Grid Screenshot Import to frame your current grid.
  2. Drag tiles in Grid Feed Planner until the order looks right and export the plan.
  3. On your phone, follow the exported plan to reorder.

If the Reorder button is missing

  • Update the app to the latest version.
  • Fully close and reopen the app.
  • If it’s still gone, use your exported plan as a reference and reorder as posts allow.

Pinned posts

Pinned posts stay on top and can’t be moved. Keep them fixed in your plan so the preview matches reality.
