Why split a photo into a grid?

Puzzle feeds work best when every tile comes from the same source image. Splitting once, with exact pixel boundaries, beats cropping each post by hand and guessing the seams.

Presets built for profile grids

Instagram profiles are fixed at 3 columns. Presets cover the common layouts (3×1 through 3×4), and custom sizes stay available when you need a taller or wider puzzle. The preview shows tile count and approximate size before you export.

Check the composition before you cut

The splitter divides the image you provide into equal blocks; it does not guess which subject should sit in which tile. Put a face, product, or important text safely inside its intended area in the source image, then use the preview to make sure a grid line will not cut through it. If the frame is wrong, crop the source first and split the revised image.

Use the planner when the feed is not one image

Tile Splitter is for a single continuous image. For a feed made from separate photos, open Grid Feed Planner instead: drag posts into place, compare scenarios, and export a grid or profile mockup. Frequently asked questions

Will the tiles line up without gaps?

Yes. Cuts use shared integer boundaries so neighboring tiles meet edge-to-edge with no 1px seam when you reassemble the puzzle.

What order should I post the tiles?

Post numbers follow reverse chronological order (bottom-right first). Publish post 1 first so the finished grid reads correctly on a profile.

Are my images uploaded?

No. Splitting and ZIP export run entirely in your browser.

Can I make a 3×3 grid or a different size?

Yes. Start with 3×1 through 3×4 presets, including a 3×3 grid, or choose a custom layout from 1 to 6 rows and columns. The preview updates before you download anything.

Can I split a vertical or horizontal photo?

Yes. The splitter divides the image you provide into equal blocks. Use the preview to check the composition first, and crop the source image before importing it if you need a different frame.

When should I use Tile Splitter instead of Grid Feed Planner?
